Best and worst versions of Windows
This review is slightly different from the ones in my old blog.
The difference is that the scale of ratings are now from worst to best instead of from 1 to 10.
Ratings are the same: Worst=worst, best=best.
Windows 7: Great.
This version of Windows is great in term of features. But it is still slower than XP, and it is quite restrictive about installing programs.
Windows XP: Best.
This version of Windows is the best one. It's very fast, not too restrictive and easy to use. Many programs still work on it.
Windows 2000: Great.
This Windows OS is great in term of speed. Fewer programs still work on this OS.
Windows ME: Worst.
This crapware is just a piece of junk. It's advantage is only multimedia features from Win2K. It also lacks real-mode DOS support.
Windows 98: Good.
This 9X OS is quite good in term of speed. Fewer programs still work on this OS.
Windows NT4: Fair.
This OS is fair in term of speed and features. Newer programs won't work on it, and there is no PNP(Plug and Play) support.
Windows 95: Bad.
This OS is pretty unstable. Firstly, I'm having some miner problems getting it to install. Secondly internet is a bit difficult to set up.
Windows 3.1X: Good.
This OS is good that it's boot up time is very fast due to it's fewer feature pack. Modern programs won't work on it. Networking setup is very difficult.
Windows 3.0: Fine.
This OS is just fine. It's feature are quite less. It doesn't support sound, nor colored icons, nor networking.
Windows 2.x: Fair.
This second version of Windows is OK. It's boot up time was fast, and the interface was simple.
Windows 1.0: Fair.
This first version is OK. It's the first graphical environment for DOS, and it's boot up time was fast. It's interface is also simple.
Note: Windows Server2003/2008/2008R2/Vista is not reviewed here because 1. They are the same as their client versions 2. Windows Vista is probably the same as Windows 7.
