Reasons not to use IE

Did you know that IE is not a safe web browser?

Although it comes with Windows, but it's not good.

Firstly, it has many security holes that hackers could easily exploit even the Windows OS is up-to-date with patches. The reason for this is that M$ is slow at responding to such bug.

Secondly, it is not standards compliant. Sites designed to use Activex and VB scripts will not work in Firefox or Safari.

Thirdly, it is not stable and crashes very often. Just try creating a .txt file, then paste the following 61bites codes into it

<script>for (x in document.write) { document.write(x);}</script>

and rename it to the .html extension, then try launching it with IE6.

The result:

Look at the picture. How depressing is that? Only 61bites of code can crash a browser? Wow! IE6 is so bad at handeling codes!

Note the image above is from Windows XP Mode. Windows 7 can't even run IE6!

So, you should switch to an alternative browser that is secure, standards compliant, and stable.

Firefox is my top recommendation for average users. It's very fast, and you can customize just about everything. There are over 8000 extensions that will make your browser more useful. Luckily it doesn't support Activex and VB. If it does, it will be as unsafe as IE. But thanks to the fact that it doesn't support those. Firefox is also standards compliant.

There are several great alternative to Internet Explorer. They are:

Google Chrome, Opera, and Apple Safari.

These 3 browser are also standards compliant.
